Revit Hangs up at moment of Synching

Hello, I am somewhat new to Revit.

We are running Revit 11 on windows 7 64bit, and we have been having this problem at the moment the local file tries to synchronize with central, revit hangs up and we get stuck in the windows timer circle (which we have dubed the circle of death) as the only way to get back or out of it is to cold boot the system.

Has anyone else seen this or might know whats going on?

Thanks, in advance

Francisco

I want to report having the same problem.

I find it to be happening when there is a lot of network traffic or our server is under heavy load.

Is it possible to attach the journal file from the Revit session when this occurs for additional analysis?

Location of journal files

Thank you,

Ryan,

here is one more from a coworker, he is using the Revit Structure application but the synching hang up occurs as well.

this journal is from today at the lock up time.

1. How big is the file?

2. Check network connectivity of all machines

3. Can other projects be STC? or is it just this particular file?

4. How much RAM do all the machines have?

5. Make sure all the machines have the SAME BUILD--very important.

From these journal files, I would like to mention \ recommend the following:

Definitely verify if other users can synchronize, and have all users relinquish elements \ and create

new local files if possible.

This save does not appear to complete as mentioned, as the journal does not finish writing normally and ends abruptly [Revit.exe ended or similar].

Otherwise there could potentially be a permissions issue with the Worksharing Log \ .DAT files in the Backup folder.  The journal typically hangs around the same point:

Take a look at the following technical solution for the most important items to keep in mind:

File not saved during synchronize with central

Thank you,
