After hours of searching for an answer i still cannot find one relating to my exact issue.
Im running Revit 2013 on Parallels 8 (Windows 7 x64bit) on a Macbook Pro, it has been working fine for over a year untill today as it freezes on the startup splash screen and the 'SECSplashwnd' becomes non-responsive. Nothing significant has been changed as it was working fine 8 hours ago.
I have tried repairing the Revit installation, restarting windows and mac, uninstalling Microsoft Framework and reinstalling.

In the task manager, make sure WSCommCntr (or something similar) is not running (end task on it if it is), then try starting Revit again.
Have you installed all updates to 2013? Have you installed 2014 recently? If not, then you may need to reinstall .NET 4.0.
If that doesn't work, you may need to go in and edit the registry. Google "Revit 2013 hangs at splash screen" and "parallels" and you should find a few forum topics covering how to resolve this.
Couldn't find an answer 😞 just had to use a timemachine backup and copy over the Window 7 virtual machine image from a prior backup.. seems to work fine now despite the inconvenience.
