I just installed Revit 2013 and opened a file made in Revit 2012. Something strange happens to it, it becomes semi-transparent, although transparency is set to 0 under graphic display options. Attaching a file that shows the problem. It's most visible in the shaded-style, but still there in hidden line for example. The walls by the stair are visible through the roof and there are also some "chairs" from way down in the building visible.
Does anyone know how to change this? is it a bug or a setting?
Thanks!
Victoria

That looks about like the way you work in Revit 2013. I doubt
there is anything wrong. I hope you still have a copy of your 2012
project so you can continue working there for a little while until
you get more acquainted with Revit 2013.
Victoria,
RAC 2013 has made use of new View Templates, so the first thing I'd do is to check to see that the view template and discipline in 13 is the same as in 12.....Assuming that your using Revit One box..............

Based on the inconsistency of the graphics, my guess is that this has something to do with the video card. Try turning hardware acceleration off, and see if that fixes it. Also, try starting a new project from scratch, and either draw new elements or copy/paste the elements from the problem file into the new file, and see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, then the problem is with the file/elements/view. If the problem is repeated, then the problem is most likely with the graphics card.
Ross,
thank you so much, had totally forgotten that i had turned off hardware acceleration in 2012. As soon as I did that in 2013 the problem was solved.
Thanks again!
Victoria
Glad I could help. May be time to upgrade your video card, especially if you plan on using any of the new visualization settings (ray trace, ambient shadows, etc.), because most of those will probably be disabled/unavailable unless you can enable hardware acceleration.
Hi Victoria,
I understand that you have addressed your problem, but for any others who come across this post...
From my research, it appears that it is an issue with certain graphics cards, especially Nvidia.
I had the same issue, and fixed it with updating my graphics card drivers, and I still use Hardware acceleration and Anti-Aliasing with no problems now.
Hope that helps.

I have found that the latest NVIDIA driver works well for me.
Computer Model HP EliteBook 8470p
Graphics Card NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M
Known Good Driver 307.45
Known Bad Driver 8.17.12.9053, 276.42 [8.17.12.7642]
Revit versions installed REVIT 2013; RAC 2012
Victoria,
Thank you fro bringing this up. It's exactly what happened to me.
