Revit 2010 User Guide and Tutorial

When will we be able to request the paper versions of the User Guide and Tutorials from Autodesk Subscription? I've been checking every day and so far its still not available.

You should be able to request printed versions
here.

Downloadable PDF versions are also avaliable
here.

Thanks for the link to the PDF. This will be a good start, however the request documentation link doesn't contain documentation for Revit 2010. There is doumentation for ACAD 2010 and Inventer 2010, and older Revit versions, but not Revit 2010. Please check into this.

I have been waiting for them to update the printed
versions section to include Revit Architecture 2010 as well.

update. I e-mailed service-center@autodesk.com about this and here was the response:

------------------------------------------
There is no published manual for Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010, a viewable/downloadable version is available at:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=13080471
------------------------------------------

This is a new development, since I was able to order the User's Guide and tutorials for Revit 2009. Having to use the PDFs isn't the end of the world, however I find it disconcerting that Autodesk is scaling back services like providing a printed manual on request without telling us and also without reducing our Subscription Cost.

Product Documentation & Software - http://autodeskdocandmedia.com/
Not available as of July 18, 2009

Product documentation for the Revit Architecture Suite 2010 suggests documentation is available to subscription members, however, when trying to access Autodesk Product Documentation & Software web page it shows subscriber eligibility as:- "You are eligible to select only 1 of the following listed manuals per serial number" and on completing the forms states "There are no applicable manuals for the product you selected. Click here to enter a select a different product.

This thread shows others have the same issue..

If we accept a product manual for another product and if Autodesk in future provide the complete documentation for Revit Architecture Suite 2010 then we have lost the right to request our product documents?

This is a poor show! Edited by: PaulEgan5856 on Aug 6, 2009 1:01 PM

Hi Fellow will be anarchists:

The cad store customer reps told me "NADA". (could it be an acronym for NO Autodesk Documentation Again") not even for 3DS MAX Design, just a 9 thousand page PDF (another acronym for Pretty Damn Funny). He said they're getting out of the business of printing materials. What is this save the trees? I say let us rise up in protest (another demonstration of the oppressed "Hands On Feel it touch it crowed) and voice our descent to Autodesk and DEMAND our $3000 plus worth. Something substantial we can see in color and thumb through, not just an almost 5" diameter disk. Who's with me. Write your congressmen, call the President (Autodesk that is). Do something Autodesk, not just for AutoCAD 2010 and ACA 2010, but your many other Programs. Now that I've said my piece. How's everybody liking Revit 2010? Have a nice weekend everybody.

Still no documentation in book form for any of the Revit 2010 suites.

The decision was made to not produce the Revit 2010 users guide(s) as a POD
(print on demand) book.

Jeff - It would be beneficial for other users to have this on the documentation request site. I have been checking there since 2010 came out and until I saw this post I didn't know.

Will all future versions be downloadable pdf only for the user guides? Some of my users here like to have a reference book on their desk.

We pay enough for software we should get user guide books IMO.

I believe this will probably be the case moving forward. Sorry.

You can always send your feedback to Autodesk via this link:

this thread is just so amazing to me..

i don't know who does and who doesn't
want paper documents- (i don't)- but
it looks like there is some general
frustrations brewing..

i think something is about to happen
and i'm pretty sure it's not in my
imagination..

i think everybody in AECOO (architecture
engineering construction building
ownership and operation) is about to
start tumbling down the hill off of
that peak of all the hype about BIM
and revit- especially now that revit
has ate their lunch..

but for me- i will just be continuing
to enjoy all of it.. infact i love it..

Vector2 - That was a random response. I think it is in your imagination.

This was a post about receiving book user guides. Not a rant about Revit.

Sounds like you are one of the few that are still hoping the paradigm shift in the industry doesn't happen. Keep thinking that and firms like ours will enjoy all the project work in BIM.

CAD = CADaver

Cheers!

cook-

the paradigm shift it happening- but the reality
must settle in first- after the hype has subsided..

let them cry for help on paper documents- or
anywhere they can get it- i don't care.. but
realize that this is a very radical change to one
of the world’s largest and oldest industries..

and you can be sure construction in the world
will come back hard- and you better be ready
for it with BIM and revit..

If they are no longer going to provide manuals on request for our software; can we please have a reduction in our subscription fees?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah right!
