I'm trying to create a workflow at the moment to get our survey teams point cloud information into Revit.
The survey team deliverables include a PTS and DWG showing gridlines in world coordinates. The process I am using at the moment is to build up the basics of my model such as grids and levels, link in the DWG move it in line with my existing grid then acquire coordinates.
When I bring in the point cloud after these steps it comes in the completely wrong place. Am I missing a trick here?
Is this the wrong workflow to be using? Any assistance would be most helpful.
Thanks
When you insert the point cloud, what are you choosing for Positioning in the Link dialog?
I was originally using shared coordinates but I went all to try all options.
I have come to a solution which is as follows:
I’m still not 100% sure what was the issue in the first place, my best guess is the difference in coordinates format (mm or m) causing revit to throw the point cloud in the wrong place.
Thanks
