Please help me with Revit (model and topo)

Hi, I've just used Revit for 1 week since one of my friends at uni told me that he works better with Revit when doing architecture than AutoCAD.

I have an assignment about a winery. I've done the sketch model in Revit and worked out the topo from google terrain and saved the topo as an individual file (3d). I wanna put the model in the topo or put the topo under the building (2 different files), and don't really know what to do.

Also, I've touched a bit of building pad and parts of my building is below ground and covered by the earth, how do I actually show it in the topo and model combined file?

Some of the words may sound stupid.... but I just don't know much about Revit...

Please help me.

Ryan

Hi,

You can export your google terrain as DWG and import it into Revit.

1. Download the Google Earth Extension for AutoCAD and follow the steps to create the file:http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/google_earth_extension_beta/

2. Insert>Import Cad> browse to the location of your file

3. Massing&Site > Toposurface> Create from import> Select Import Instance - select your CAD file and the layers you need to use to create the topo.

Hope that helps.
