Patterns colors and Textures

I am working on a project that has (3) different patterns of cmu, a plain cmu block, a fluted or ribbed block and a split face block. The problem is I am unable to make the different blocks different, otherwise when I change one wall to a split face the other types of cmu walls change with it. What can I do to represent each block type correctly?
Thanks for the help.

You need to make three different materials, with their own fill pattern and color, and assign them to the different wall types.

Can you enhance your answer? What exactly do you mean by making 3 different materials? It is all cmu.
thanks

okay say you got three walls and they
all have the same material..

but walls 2 and 3 you want to have a different
material..

here's what you do..

click on wall #2..

go to the "type" properties of that wall
and "duplicate" it..

give it a name..

(when you duplicate a wall you are creating
a brand new wall even though it still has all
the properties and materials of the wall it
duplicated- and you just change all those
wall characteristics to whatever you want
for your new wall- including a new material..)

then click on that "edit" bar in the type properties..

then where it says "material' for the structure-
(that usually says "by category")- click on the
tiny button next to that and it will take you to
the materials dialog..

then down in the left corner of the materials
dialog is a button for duplicating and creating
a new material..

give that new material a name like the wall you
want that material to go on..

and then with that new material name highlighted
select a render material for it..

close everything and you now have a new material
just for that one wall..

Yes, it is all CMU, but since you want to represent them with different fill patterns you need to set up three different Revit materials. To create new materials go to Manage tab>Materials. Then you can apply them to the different wall types.
