Path defined at intersection of mass extrusion and surface in 2013

I am really struggling with how to get a path defined at the intersection of a curved mass extrusion and a wave form surface. I need to have this as a path to divide (using the new 2013 Divide function) in order to hang an adaptive component. See images.

Any help would be appreciated and I can attach rvt file if helpful. Thx for any input.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like this is the same project you submitted on a subscription case (we were working together on).

Using that file, I was able to create a divided path from the intersection of the elements by going through the following steps:

  1. In the family create a new Default 3D view (rename the current {3D} view, and click the Default 3D view button).
  2. Delete the two divided paths (on each side of the wave form surface).
  3. Cut the wave form surface using the mass extrusion (using the Cut Geometry tool select the wave form surface, and then the mass extrusion).
  4. Once the wave form is cut, select the edge of the wave form that meets the mass extrusion, and create a divided path.

I am attaching a video showing steps 2-4. To open the video, unzip the file and drag into a browser window.

If you need more info on the steps, update the thread to let me know. If this answers your question please use the Accept as Solution button.
