New user-Positioning of point cloud

I am finally getting involved with Revit and modeling existing conditions and am looking for a blue collar explanation of the differences of positioning when inserting a point cloud (.pcg) file. Our point clouds are normally tied into horizontal and vertical datums and I have seen all sorts of ideas and also some postings that the clouds cannot be brought in at the proper location. I see Auto-Origin to Origin and i feel as though it should be brought in exactly where it needs to be, but with units settings, parameter settings, and I know Revit is limited i honestly dont know if my location is right. And i dont know how to actually ID or check the coords and elevation of the cloud once it is inserted. Also, how do i relocate the 4 elevation view icons (box with triangle on top) to where my cloud is.

thank you all.
