Multiple Users for Revit Files

Hi Everyone,

We have just installed a new server at work. We have transfered all of our Revit files to the server and resaved them as central files. We cannot seem to create more than one local file per Revit file even though we have already set up the file as a worksharing file. What is wrong? Are we missing something? The one that sets up the Revit file is the only one that can create the local file. For the other user the create local file tab is grayed out.

Hello! Welcome to the Discussion Groups!

What process was followed in order to remake these Central Files? Have you tried opening the file with the "Detach from Central" option, choosing "Detach and Preserve Worksets", and doing a 'Save As' over the original file? I believe the user who does this should exit, create a new Local File, and then Synchronize and Relinquish All Mine before others try to make Local Files.

Is everyone mapped to/pathed to the server in the same way?

Yes this is the exact way that we are creating these files. And yes we are both linked the the server in the same way.

What version of Revit(s) is in play here? Is everyone on the same version and build?
