Modeling: Activated View in a sheet vs The working plan

Revit 2013:

Is there any difference between activating a view in a sheet and modeling in that view and modeling in the actual floor plan or 3d view?

Are there certain things that can only be done in a working drawing that can't be done just by activating a view of that drawing?

No,there isn't other than having the context of the sheet in view. That can actually be helpful when there are several views on the sheet.

In additon what Steve says , sheet allows a powerful instrument for placing a 3d camera view on a background image:

I 'll explain the steps in below:

  1. First make a new sheet , I called it calibration sheet,  into wich  insert the image  used as background. Make also a camera view from an approximate angle - Image 01
  2. .In calibration sheet  determine the Vanishing Point tracing Detail Lines on existing building elements ( the green lines) Once having the Vanishing Point ,  trace alignements for 3d model ( red Detail Lines) - Image 02

  3. Drag the Camera View into the sheet  - Image 03
  4. now, using the Full Navigation Wheel functions : Orbit, zoom , pan ..etc align the camera view with the two red detail lines ( for a better manipulation of the camera view make first a transparency override of the 3d model) ....Image 04
  5. When the positon of the camera view seems to be ok , cancel the transparency override and adjust the shadows to be like in backgrond picture - Image 05
  6. Open the Camera View and Lock the View so not to change by accident
  7. Render the Camera View and save the rendered image as .png ( for transparent background)
  8. At the end place the rendered object over background image in Photoshop - Image 06....(doing this in Revit the quality will be not so good)
