Merge two line patterns into one

I have a file with two differently named line patterns, but with the same pattern definition. Ex., the line pattern for "HIDDEN 1/8" and "1/8" HIDDEN" are exactly the same. I want to merge the two into one line pattern. I would think thi is possible, since Revit is for the most part a database.

Hi,

I don't think so. But if you go to manage linestyles in the manage ribbon, you can change the line patterns to match what you need and then delete the pattern from the manage line patterns.

If you delete a line pattern while still having some elements use it, then they will go back to default which is usually solid.

REALLY! I'm really surprised Revit can't do this. I thought I just couldn't find the command to do this. A search & replace method could achieve the same thing, seach for all instances of <blank> and replace with <blank>. I hope someone else might chime in with an answer to this issue.

Okay, understood.

Okay, so there isn't a known method to merge two line definitions into one. The next possible fix could be a method of gathering or find all of the entities asociated with a line style in the model. Once done, one can manually change many items to another line style.
