In the Materials dialog box, when you click on your material, there are 2
options. One is Shading and there's a dialog box labeled Color, this is for
when you click on Shading in a View window. Change the color to something
more suitable. The other opion in the Materials dialog box is Accurender,
there's a dialog box labeled Texture, this is for when you Render a scene.
If this doesn't solve your problem, then it might be b/c the object hasn't
been assigned the material yet. Couple of things to try is to click on the
object and go to properties, check and see if there's a parameter set up
yet, if not assign it a Material parameter and then set it in the Family
Types dialog box. Or you can check on the Subcategory layer, if it's a dwg
imported object, in the Object Styles dialog box. There's an option for the
Material next to the layer. Just depends on how the family was setup.

I was trying to change the materials of several components I loaded from the
web library. First I set up a new material parameter and put in all the
specs I wanted but now it wil not "stick" to the component; they stay white
even though the properties box says the right thing.
What am I doing wrong?
