Material on Stacked Wall doesn't change when I change the Basic Wall

I have a stacked wall. When I change the brick color on the basic wall in shading with edges, it doesn't update the stacked wall? I am using RA 2010.

The stacked wall face appears to have been painted with another material.  If you add a new instance of the same stacked wall or set the paint material to <by category> it appears correct, and immediately changes to represent a new material change:
