I am transitioning to Revit from AutoCAD and just completed 2 tutorials offered from the autodesk Wiki site. I now want to tackle drawing up my house but have some questions. In the tutorials, you start by setting your levels that represent your floor to celing height. So, if my 1st floor has 8' celings, I would make leve 2 16' which would account for the celing height in my basenment. The celing height would be correct but the overall elevation would not. When drawing up the walls, I get a prompt, "Join walls to floor", or "Join walls to ceiling". I'm not completely sure what is asking there. I understand that, simply, its asking to join the walls to either the floor or the ceiling, but does that account for the joist height, subflooring thickness, and finished flooring thickness? I know that you would probably have to assign the values for that but I would like a better explanation of the the software is asking. This is something the tutorials really didn't touch on.
Thanks in advance
