Importing .dxf and .dwg

I am trying to import section and detail drawings onto my output sheets but
am coming up with weird scaling. What is the trick to bringing these
drawings in at normal scales?

From the import dialog use the correct units (bottom left)

You can also change the scale after you've imported the file by selecting it and going to its properties then changing its import scale.
