I have created a simple model & IFC export from Revit (see attached). The issues are
If we create a room and put a light or MEP item in, when exported to IFC it shows the items individually as well as been grouped under the room. This is good as you can locate the light in the space in IFC model so you can extract location & asset data.
If we create a space (MEP version of room) and put a light or MEP item in, when exported to IFC it shows the items individually only. Why?
Any architectural item (door or window) only shows the item individually and not grouped under the room or space that it borders its. In the revit model you can schedule out the door and locate it. So how can we export out a door and locate it within a space via IFC fields?
The MEP Test E.pdf is an ifc file but you cannot upload these!!!! just rename it to .ifc
I have the Revit file however it is 7mb, which is too large to upload.
