How to stop having these files on our hard drive,

How to stop having these files on our hard drive,

I’m wondering how to control the number of these files (shown in the screenshot below) that are generated automatically.

These are your back-up file! You really don't want to not have them.

At the end of the week I usually clean out my folders but always keep one or two... Just incase.

In the options you are showing you can take it down to 1 I think - not sure on 0.. But you really should have some back-ups.

Revit will crash - every software does... And you don't want to lose everything so having a backup is a good thing.

You can't think AutoCAD and run Revit.

Thank you LisaDrago for the answer. Just I wanted to now from where I specify the number of back up files! Sure, we do need such back up files in case of file corruption.

My issue now is how can we specify the number of back up files for an EXISTING Revit file? I couldn’t find such option in the option dialogue box!

"Save as" the file, and then set the backups in the dialog box you show in your first post.

Many thanks Scott,

I thought it is kind of option that can be set at the level of the software through the option dialogue box!
