Has anyone had success with worksharing while runing Revit on Parallels?

We are having issues, and we think it is something to do with the file name/path.

Only the person that creates a central file can save to central. Other users can open the file, but when saving to central a "File not saved" error pops up.

Things work fine when running in Bootcamp. Has anyone else had this problem, and what did you do to resolve it?

Thanks!

Running Revit 2011, Parallels 6, and MacOS 10.6

Is the person that created the central file working in the central file? If so, kick them out and have them create a local. Are the other users creating locals and working in them? If anyone creates a new worksharing (central) file, closes it and then opens it and creates a local from it, can they save to central?

Thanks for posting.

Enable workset first...Create one central file in your office network HD, call it ...bla bla bla Central...then each user create their own local file saved on their onwn computer with their name on it instead of central...

then the icon to save to central should be clickable. Never work on the central file...

I am working on this issue with jodyb17, we work together.  We have the worksharing set up the way you have been describing.  The central file is located on the server and each workstation is creating their own personal local files on their desktops, no one works on the Central File.  When doing this process when the workstations are in Bootcamp it works fine. The two computers set up with Bootcamp and Revit are both able to workshare and synchronize to the Central File. So we believe it is not a server issue.

The problem arises in Parallels, since several of our workstations require majority of their time to be using programs on the Mac OSX, while still doing some work in Revit through Parallels.  Only the workstations (using Parallels) that create the Central File are able to enable worksharing, create a local and synchronize it to the Central File. Other workstations are able to create a local but as soon as they open the file there is a warning that says "the Central File cannot be found"  even though we can navigate to it. And they are unable to synchronize to the Central File.  This makes us believe it is a pathing issue brought on my either Parallels or Mac OSX.  I think Parallels.

Are there any suggestions on how to get our worksharing working within Parallels?

Thanks

It sounds like a pathing issue to me, but I’m more on the PC side of the house! I did find the following link, not sure if you

saw them, but I figured I’d share:
