Can the font size units be changed to point?

Not in Revit, but 72p is approx. 1".

It drives me nuts to see all "solutions" to "solved" topics that are really just "You can't do that in Revit." It's ANSWERED, yes, but there really should be a "no solution" status (instead of "solved") next to the topic - it always gets my hopes up. 😞

 

Anyway, here's the idea:

Be able to set Units for Text Size

There are generally 72 points to an inch as stated below but there's a difference in what Revit does with it.

 

For instance, if you convert from points to inches: Revit will make the stroke of the letters (like 'T') that actual height.  In Revit the points-to-inches conversion creates 22 pt text as ~.30 in height but outside of Revit, 22 pt text measures around .22 in tall.

 

For Arial, I found that multiplying the decimal conversion by 0.72 gets the text height to more closely match it's point equivalent.
