Finishes in Rendering

My wood finishes look horrible when rendered in Revit 2012.  I'm using wood finish in ceilings, walls and floors (wood planks) and on casework (wood laminate).  Any idea  how to get them to render correctly.  Thanks!

Hi. This depends on the wood used in the rendering image provided in the appearance asset of the material. But most importantly, it also depends on the rendering settings, direction of lighting (artificial or sunlight or both), and so on. If you could provide an image or attach a file with a single element, maybe we can take a look at it and help out more.
