No you can't do that. However, just click on the filled region, click
Properties, Edit/New and select Duplicate. Give it a new name and make
whatever changes to it you need. I like this as you can set standards for
all of your patterns. No more trying to figure out what scale and rotation
it needs to be.

not require a different family type for a different colour (same hatch
pattern though)
ie. Can the colour become an instance parameter rather than a type
parameter.
