Family Status by Phase

We use electircal elements in AutoCAD dwgs that have labels to indicate the status of the element by phase. For instance on a floor plan we might have elctrical outlets that are existing (E), new (N), demo (D), etc.  How does one do this efficietnly in REVIT?  Is there a way to assign a paramter to grab the phase of the object and then adjust a label accordingly?  This would be ideal because over time the element s might move from one phase to another such as from new to existing.

If I understood correctly, you would like to assign phases to elements in your file. I am not sure what you mean about "labels". Could you please explain that better or post an image of it?

You can create different phases in Revit. Select the element you want to assign to a phase> go to the properties > scroll down to the bottom and choose the phase you want.

By changing the visibility of the view you will be able to show different phases of the project.

Here is a link to an article that explains it step-by-step:

Ok - I still have not resolved this.  Consider this scenario.  Existing space in a building. Electrical Outlets on the wall that are to remain need to have an 'E' label to indicate existing, new outlets need to have a N label to indicate newly installed device, etc.

At the end of the project, all of the outlets that are not demolished need to be considered existing for the next project.  I also need to be able to label install height as a special outlet above a counter might need to be at one height whereas all other outlets are at a different height.
