Elevations

In the elevation views the slab and foundation show up. I am look for a thick line to  represent the finish grade, with nothing below that. What would be the best work flow or what is typicaly done in Revit.

i guess you can achieve the desired by drawing Filled Region with accurate shape and appropriate line thickness.

It's 2D but will solve your purpose.

You can turn of the Model Categories in VG for the Structural Floor/Slab/Foundations.

For the grade line, you can create a Toposurface which represents the 3D topography, then use Model lines and/or a filled region to sho where the grade hits the building.
