Door "Bounding Box?"

Hi

I'm having fun with doors!

I've made a very simple industrial door which works fine but has one oddity.  That is, when I try to move one it has a huge blue dashed box appear around it (see attached image).  When I do the same with a standard family the box is quite tight around the door (see second attached image).

When I look at the family and zoom extents in all views I can't see any geometry lurking a long way from the model.  That said, I am concerned that they may be affecting the extents of the building model.

Any thoughts?

Try checking the Reference planes lengths in your door family............they may be quite long.

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't appear to be the case.  Whilst I introduced additional planes I didn't tweak the predefined ones and the additional planes don't extend beyond them.

Any dim parameters or Labels way out?  Without looking at the family, those would be my choices to check out.

I've had another look and still can't see anything.

I've rebuilt the doors from scratch and they're seem fine (completely new families).  All good practice!
