Display vs printing of symbol

I have just started using Revit, so everthing is still set up out of the box. I create a floor plan, set to "show complete" and add the Revit included floor drain symbol, set to "existing". This displays and prints as expected.

When I create the demo plan, set to "demo + previous" the floor drains show, but do not print. They will print using raster instead of vector processing, but other line work such as regions look bad.

I have seen other posts similiar to this problem, but not a solution yet.

In the Print Setup dialog box, select "Vector processing" and, from the options at the bottom of the screen, activate "Replace half tone with thin lines".
