Dimension Stuff

Hello,
I am a very new user to Revit. I come from an AutoCAD background. What I want to do is overwrite a dimension value with some notes. I do not want Revit to display the actual numeric value of what I have displayed. In AutoCAD, it was simply a matter of editing the information between the "<>" to achieve whatever I want it to say, but in Revit, it is who knows what. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks

Well, while I am on this topic, is there anyway to change the properties of one or more of the extension lines? I would like to change one of them to a hidden line.

No. You can't override a Revit dimension. You can add a prefix or suffix, or
display EQ. But you can't arbitrarily change the dimension to something
wrong.

Dimension styles can have differing extension linetypes. Our centerlines
automatically change to a CL linetype.

Just use the text tool and type over the dim number. As long as your text style is set to opaque, it will hide the dim text.
