Defining Roof Lines

On Friday at a BDAQ meeting in Childers, my boss approached some Revit reps and queried them about the program. One of the issues raised was defining roof lines. ie: when we render, roof faces facing west will all appear the same although on different planes. This often confuses the clients. The reps suggested we copy the roof, offset the ridge lines 200mm either side, cut the remaining roof away, raise the roof 50mm and then place the new roof over the old.
My question is, How do i offset this roof and trim the roof to shape???
Cheers,

You could create separate roofs in the different planes using the same roof layers, but giving each roof plane a separate Type name. Then use the Filters tool to change the properties of the roofs linework, color, linewieght, halftone or material values.

Filters ROCK!
