I have a client who wants to see a more realistic representation of the direction of the planks in her floor. I cannot figure out ow to do this. I have succesfully changed the direction of the beam system under the floor, but cannot change the direction of the floor panel. I have tried the folllowing:
1) Going into sketch mode and changing the beam support direction.
2) Changing the pattern in the materials fsettings from horizontal to vertical.
Can anyone help?
Are textured material to be seen in a rendering, or just the pattern view
If so, under materials,
Go to “rendering appearance”, go down to the “wood properties” are, there is a rotation under the image of the wood texture, increase that by 90 degrees.
I it messes other object mapped with the same material, you may need to create a separate material for that chunk of flooring.
Primarily in the pattern view. The cient and I are not terribly concerned about getting a rendered image.
I made the changes you suggested, but it did not work. I still think that changing the span directionshould have some effect, but it never does. It makes one wonder why I keep trying that solution.
Did you try to change the “line angle” value under Modify Patter Properties screen?
Pick the Fill Pattern you have applied, the chose edit on the right.
I am using Revit 2010 so things could look different. Or maybe create a “New” fill pattern with all the settings you need.
You know, I just tried setting the pattern to the vertical version of the planks, and it worked. I had tried that a few times before, and it did not work. Not sure what I was doing wrong before, or what I did differently this time, but it is working now.
Thanks for teh input.
Have you tried clicking on one of the pattern elements and rotating it? That should rotate the whole pattern to whatever angle yuo need.
