OK...SO I SUCCESSFULLY CONVERTED THE .MAX FILE TO CAD - WHEN I IMPORT CAD TO REVIT I GET THIS MESSAGE:
"SOME ACIS OBJECTS COULD NOT BE IMPORTED. TO IMPORT THEM USE AUTOCAD TO CONVERT THEM TO POLYMESH OBJECTS AND THEN REIMPORT."
I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THIS IN 2010 OR 2011 AUTOCAD...IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS
Hi,
What kind of export are you performing in 3D Studio MAX? I have several times exported as DWG version R2007 from 3DSMax and it has never been any problems to import them into Revit...
I had this problem when I was trying to import some blankets I made in 3DS Max into Revit. For that fix, I exported the 3DS file as a .dwg, opened it in AutoCAD, then exploded the object. I saved the .dwg then imported it into Revit and it loaded just fine. Not sure what kind of object you're trying to switch over or what size, but hopefully that helps 🙂
I have had no problems exporting DWG from 3Dmax, but can anyone tell me why the rendering materials for 3Dmax does not go over into DWG, hence over into the revit family? When ever I render after exporting 3dMax to DWG to import into a revit family, it renders with no materials. Can anyone help me with this?
I have that problem too, but I just figured I was missing a step because I'm really not familiar with 3DS Max.
