Big project - how to divide the central file?

We have to do a project in Revit The residential complex consists of 6 free standing buildings of a maximum height of 10 stories. Approximately 700 apartments.(50 different groups)The Office building  is a 16 story high structure with a stepped silhouette GFA of the entire complex is 100 000 sq.m. We use Revit Architecture and Structure 2012. The project team is 12 people

Can someone hint me?
How best to divide a file?
What will be the best allocation of project work?
What to avoid?

Maybe someone has some materials that describe how to work on such a project?

1. Site Model--"Master File" with all buildings Linked into it.

2. Building Model (s) for each building, Linked into Site File.

Starting with (usually) a Cad site plan, use the Origin to establish Shared Coordinates and Project Location to align buildings and site.

Consultants' models for Struct. and MEP are Linked into Building Models, and also use Shared Coordinates.

Set up View Templates in each model to control visibility of Links.

You can print Sheets from each building model and issue separate packages.

This should be a good starting point. Good luck!
