Baluster - Fake Linetype, possible?

I am aiming to create Offset "fake linetypes" which follow along the path of the railing.

The example below is simply created with a railing which contains a baluster family of a single symbolic line so it will only show in plan.

My question: Is it possible to adjust it to trim accordingly with the rail corners?

It appears to maintain the same lengths as the rails.  Since it's offset a given distance it causes overlaps in corners of 90 or less and 90 or greater it causes large gaps.

Any tips?
