Aligning Roof Eaves and Soffits

.
There are some basic 'Must Know' rules for any REVIT user to successfully create Roofs in oder to align the roof edges, eaves and soffits.

There is a world of difference between drawing a roof (by footprint) by Picking Walls vs Drawing Lines. The differences are sublte but deadly. In fact all apsects of REVIT that have the PICK Walls option can use this same thinking.

Below is a link to an excellent video tutorial explaining these roof creating rules.

You can also right click on the link above and click "Save Target As..." to download the file to your desktop or share with others.

Enjoy,

Hi GCAD,

I've downloaded the file and look at it. I think I found the solution concerning the roofs alignment on my Log House posted at AUGI http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=34982 and http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=34212
You can have a look at it and let me know if this would correct my problem or if there is something else I need to do.

If you're walkthrough is unrendered, you can add a gradient background. Take a look at: http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2012/Help/Revit_User's_Guide/1394-Document1394/1459-3D_Views1...

If the walkthrough is rendered, you can choose a background, including your own image. See: http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2012/Help/Revit_User's_Guide/1394-Document1394/1975-Renderin1...

As for images and logos, those would be decals. Check out: http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2012/Help/Revit_User's_Guide/1394-Document1394/1975-Renderin1...
