Adding objects from the library

I'm trying to add a kitchen counter to my floor plan and when I try opening up the counter I want to use from the library I get a message that says " The family is not of the correct category". The same thing happened when I tried using a specific door type. What does this mean and how do I fix this?

It's loading it into your project, but you aren't currently using the right
tool to place the counter top. You need to be using the Place Component
tool. If you are in the Door tool, and click Load to load a new family, and
then pick the counter top from the library, you will get this warning
because you are in the Door tool, not the Place Component tool.

Thanks for your reply. The problem is, I am in the Place Component tool and getting this message still. What I found out is that I need to go to the Insert tab and from the "Load from Library" panel, choose "Load Family" and pick the object I want to insert. This finally worked because I was also getting this error message while adding a door while in the Door tool. Problem solved.
