Extraction of Stringer details of Stair Object using API 2012

I want the value of Stringer Height and Stringer Thickness parameters of stair element, How can i do it using Revit API's 2012??

I have tried built in parameters : STAIRS_ATTR_STRINGER_THICKNESS  &  STAIRS_ATTR_STRINGER_HEIGTH , but value being retrieved is null. And also not able to get Family symbol of Stair element.
