Install issues

2 different laptops both with Win 7 Pro, 1 with a fresh OS install.  Attempts to install Autodesk Remote fails on both.  Both launch the install and get as far as vredist_x86, the install screen disappears with no other indication of anything.

Any ideas?

Mike

Sounds like it's failing to get past the VC++ pre requisite. Go ahead load the programs and features control panel and then uninstall any versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and 2010 and then re install them from the below links. Note if you have a 64 bit OS you need both the x86 and x64 installs. If you have a 32 bit OS you only need the x86 installs. Once this is done try installing remote again.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Had the same problems. Followed the fix and it installed perfectly.

Thanks
