Welcome to Autodesk Remote

Hi! Thanks for your interest in Autodesk Remote.

Autodesk Remote is a stand-alone application for Microsoft Window 7 and 8 and it is compatible with all Autodesk products. It lets you drive Autodesk software installed on your primary computer from a remote computer or iPad for fast access to native design data over standard networks. To use it, simply install Autodesk Remote on the PC you want to share. Install it again on the machine you want to connect from and start your connection. Autodesk Inventor currently works in North-America only and is available on the Autodesk Exchange store.

Autodesk Remote also has a companion application for the iPad that allows you to access your host PC from an iPad. The iPad App is optimized for Autodesk® Inventor® so gestures on the iPad will work as you expect; you can pinch to zoom into a model, for example. Go to the Apple Store to download the iPad App.

Please note that Autodesk Remote requires that you have a Subscription account that is associated with a paid product. Contact your Subscription Administrator if you are unsure.

Hi,

Do you know when we can likely test this in the UK?

Regards,

Duncan

We don't support outside North America but we also don't block it from the UK.  Your welcome to give it a try.

Thanks for the reply, really appreciated!

Is it worth us trying this from the UK or will it just be a waste of time evaluating?

I ask because we will probably have to do some work allowing access, see image.

Were seeing some false failures on that check, try using ignore (may take a few attempts) to get past the screen.    Let me know if your successful.

Appears to have done the trick! Although, ive only managed to install on 1 workstation, it failed on another after selecting Ignore a few times...

Do you know what this means?

One final question u have is, because i'm based in the UK, I cannot seem to access the app through the UK app store because it is only available in US app store. Is there any way i can get this as it's the ipad connectivity i'd really like to test.

Regards,

Duncan

This is often caused by failure to connect to the server during uninstall (which is more likly to occur from the UK).  You may want to try again.

Hi,

I've tried a few times but had the same error every time, looks like it won't work from UK, too problematic 😞

Duncan

Please do let me know if you have any other suggestions to try. I know you officially don't support this from the UK but I sure would like to trial it if I can, particularly that access isn't blocked.

Do you know if there is a way round the -500 and -200 errors?

Regards,

Duncan

Is there an offline installer of some sort that can be downloaded? My corporate firewall blocks outgoing traffic on port 8088 which the installer doesn't seem to like.

We are working on removing the port 8088 requirement.

A new installer has been posted to address some of the port 8088 issues.  Please return to the Autodesk Exchange store and download the latest installer.

Thanks.

I have a issue with intalling on a remote computer and can't seem to find an answer anywhere. The install on my remote computer (laptop, windows 7, 64-bit) does not seem to do ANYTHING! No error, no icon, no messg, nothing, just goes through the loading process and then disappears? I do a windows search for the program and all it finds is the download file. Any help would be great.

Additional info that might be of use.

Autodesk installed machine is Windows 8

remote is installed and working on main comp., logged in, shared is on

standalone autodesk license

Thanks in advance

Tony

Hi Tony,

I am looking at Autodesk Remote. Suggest you try seeing if a log file is created in the users temp folder and see what it says.

David

Tony,  we released an updated installer for Autodesk Remote that addresses a few install issues.  Please download the latest installer and try again on the troubled system.

Thansk.

Thanks. Update on my issue.

David Dembkoski from Autodesk support got me fixed. It tiook awhile and he eventually had to remote into my system to get the issue resolved. He removed some C++ files, reinstalled Autodesk Remote and then reinstalled the C++ files.

Please advise - when Autodesk Remote is connected to a PC, is the software that is being operated remotely visible to someone who is in that location? Thanks! Dave Males (IMAGINiT Technologies)

Yes, when connected with remote to a PC the activity would be visable on that system's monitor if it the montior was turned on.
