Create a 3D model from photos

Hello,

This is my first time of creating a 3D model from my photos. I followed the instruction that uploaded all photos to Autodesk 360 after created a folder and placed my photo in the folder. Then multiselect all my phots, right click and select "Create 3D Model" But when i do right click, i don't see "Create 3D Model" All i saw are:

Access new photo on Recap 360

Download documents

Move documents

Delete documents

Did i do something wrong? or they removed the "Create 3D Model"?  See attached.

Thank you,

Hi there,

Great question! It seems like we have some dated documentation out there - where did you find your instructions?

We actually have a new site dedicated to this at recap360.autodesk.com. Hopefully, you'll find the workflow much more straightforward, but please let me know if you run into any hiccups.

That product also has a dedicated forum here: http://goo.gl/hE8qoJ

It is kind of very confusing to me since i am a first time to do this:

Autodesk 360??? Is this a webpage to upload the photos? right?

Recap 360. Autodesk ??? How is about this?

Recap Pro ??? Is this a program? Do i have to install this program in order to create a 3d model from photos?

Could you please show me? I want to create a 3D model from the photos, that's all i need for now.

Thanks much,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
You're not alone - we've seen this confusion and are making efforts to
communicate the brand/products more clearly.

For now, let me see if I can help.

Autodesk360 - we are just using this as a service to store/transfer
data and lookup entitlements. Think of it like a hard drive in the
cloud. It's not really part of the equation so all you need to know is
that your Autodesk360 login is being used as your identity.

ReCap - ReCap by itself is a brand that contains several products:

ReCap Pro - A desktop product which needs to be installed and lets you
view and prepare point cloud data for use in other Autodesk design
products. This application also allows you to publish your scan data
to ReCap 360 to share with colleagues. Currently, photos are not
leveraged in ReCap Pro.

ReCap Free - This is a free version of ReCap Pro which can be
installed. The only difference between the Free and Pro version is
that the Free version doesn't provide access to the scan registration
tools.

ReCap 360 - A web service which contains two different tools: 1) photo
to 3d service and 2) Viewer for scans published from ReCap Pro

We are planning some adjustments that should make this a bit more
clear, but hopefully this explanation helped.
