    guideline placement w / QC7

Trying to place a horizontal guideline. All snaps are OFF, but the damn
guideline has a mind of its own! It wants to snap to some bizarre
location, a mile from my cursor.

Then, while moving the cursor around, the dashed line representing the
guideline placement goes vertical instead of horizontal. I picked
horizontal guideline, WHY does it show me a vertical track?? And there's
a stupid red dot floating around on the last guideline I placed.

Can someone PLEASE explain the "rules" that this function follows?

    Dave,

Sounds like a corrupt installation. I would suggest uninstalling and
reinstalling making sure nothing is running in the background and disabling
    any anti-virus software.
