How do you flatten it before opening
Actually, the name of the Open Shape File it hung up on was Archstyl.shx;
I found it and put it in QuickCAD's Properties subdirectory and then it
opened fine, with notice that it was flattening 3D objects.

My guess would be that the drawing has 3D objects in it and QuickCad
doesn't do 3D. If you flatten the drawing file, you should be
able to open
it with no problems. The preview displays fine because it is
bitmap that is attached to the drawing file.
