I have a new Dell P3 800 with geforce video. To be able to run QuickCad 7
at all I have had to lower graphic hardware acceleration in Windows by 2
"notches". Without this, starting the program locks the system hard.
Anyone else have this problem or maybe a fix? Do we have a CAD program that
    doesn't like powerful computers?

You might try updating your video driver from the card manufacturer's web site.
Dell may have the most recent driver also but don't count on it.

    Dear Mr. MacDougall,

Have you been able to resolve your problem with the geforce video card and
QuickCad. I have an identical problem - new DELL P3-600, 32MB geForce video, 256
RAM, DVD, etc and can't get QuickCad to work. I can't believe the problem is an
old video driver (the geForce card is apparently brand new) - I suspect the
software isn't compatible with the card.

Thanks for any information you can help me with.

    Sincerely,
