Hi:
I have been given a large amount of files from a manufacturer for my use on
a website. The files are in dwg format and I am able to convert them to dwf.
The problem is that the fonts are changed and look entirely too large and
out of scale to the original dwg files. This tends to "convolute" the
drawing as seen on the web. The second problem is one of time. There are
hundreds of files for me to convert. Is there a way of doing all of them
automatically (through a script)?
I am well versed in most computer "basics" - maybe a little more than
average.

Hi Jeff,

This is a tough one.

DWF files are still really a bit of an unknown entity...particularly when it
comes to displaying them.....there doesn't seem to be any particular
standard.

Your font problem could be a number of things...true type conversion from
the original DWG file to QuickCAD to DWF to browser....could even be a video
display problem. As the problem may not necessarily be related to QuickCAD,
may I suggest you also post your question to one of the AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT
Newsgroups...perhaps the one (version) that created the original drawings.

May I also suggest you investigate Volo View
Express.... http://www.autodesk.com/products/volo/index.htm which is a
free
DWG/DXF/DWF viewer available for download from AutoDesk (it is about
17meg)....it may assist you in pinpointing particular problems and there is
a Newsgroup dedicated to the program as
well...... news://adesknews.autodesk.com/autodesk.voloview.general

You could also try news://adesknews.autodesk.com/autodesk.internet ....there
could be some help there too.

Hi again Jeff,

Your question re the batch scripting also made me curious and I discovered
these 2 threads from the Internet Newsgroup. Unfortunately, lisps or
scripting is not available for QuickCAD.
