Can't even draw a line !!

Help! I'm very familiar with AutoCad13, just purchased QuickCad for home
use. Can't I draw a line using a length in the edit bar??? Or do I have to
draw the line and then decide the length?? I'm beginning to think I should
just buy R13 for home use also. The users guide has me clicking everywhere,
but I can't seem to actually get a line with a specific length. Any help
would be much appreciated.
