Adding extra Revit fields in QTO

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to get QTO to see in the take off other fields than just family and type. Ideally we would like to bring in Keynote, and description or type comments, can this be done?

Hi Mattcaffeine

When you generate model takeoff, the description for the takeoff groups, items, objects will be set to the category, family, type.  This is as designed and you are not able to change hot the description maps to these names.  You can change rename them after they have been created.

You are able to select a takeoff item in the palette or workbook to view its properties.  If you have the properties palette (Windows > Properties) open with the tab set to Design, when you select the model item in the takeoff palette or workbook, it will display all the item properties, including the ones you mentioned.

Therefore, after running your model takeoff, you could rename the descriptions based off of what you see in the Properties palette or manually add this to the properties of the takeoff item as a remark. Remarks can be viewed in the takeoff palette, workbook, and reports.
