I am a new user to Autodesk Land Desktop and am
trying to get used to the profile routines. I have for several
years used Eagle Point Civil Software where the plan\profile
routines for piping, etc. were a breeze. This is really completely foriegn stuff. If there are any former Eaglepoint users that can give me a clue, please do so.

Hi,
This newsgroup is a new one and seems to have very few readers.
There is a specific Land Desktop NG which is far morel widely read.
I would post your query there.
As another thought have you considered doing training in Land Desktop?
Or running the Tutorials supplied with the program.

Hello,
In order to do a profile there are several things that have to happen.
1) You need to have a SURFACE created. This is needed for a z-factor, i.e. ground elevation, depth, etc.
2) You need to create an ALIGNMENT.
3) Sample the alignment from the surface.
4) Create profile, full profile.
If these steps are not completed you will get error messages and no profile.
Good Luck,
