    DATA LINK FROM AUTOCAD TO EXCEL

    HI ALL,

    I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE ABLE TO HELP, JUST LIKE I CAN CREATE A DATA LINK FROM A TABLE THAT WAS CREATED IN EXCEL TO AUTOCAD I WANT TO DO A REVERSE DATA LINK ACTION FROM AUTOCAD TO EXCEL.

    WE HAVE A LOT OF BOM'S (BILL OF MATERIALS) THAT WERE CREATED IN AN AUTOCAD TABLE AND WANT TO LINK IT IN EXCEL FORMAT FOR COST CONFIGURATION PORPUSES FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT WORK WITH AUTOCAD.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME,

    I haven't played with it, but I believe you can make a comma separated value (CSV) file out of a table, and then import it into excel.

    This forum is pretty dead, so you might post this in a different forum like C3d or Cadd managers.

    There's a number of options. There's OLE, which is not very stable, you can use AutoCAD's Link External Data (Check the AutoCAD helps under "Link an Excel Spreadsheet to Access Data" and "Understand Data Linking and Matching"), you can use table and link them to external data, or if you're using AutoCAD Map, there are several additional linking tools.
    If you don't have Map, I'd start with the Link External Data.
