I have not downloaded this product but have some questions.

    From this link below:

    http://www.mcquay.com/eprise/main/McQuay/BIM/images/Converting_a_Revit_Family_to_AutoCAD_-_using_Rev...

    From within Revit LT can:

    1. A family be loaded by selecting from the catalog?

    2. A MEP Revit Family be opened and modified by it's type parameters?

    3. Can the connections be removed?

    4. Can the family saved and loaded into a project?

    5. Can the family in a project be exported to DWG?

    Thanks very much,

    David

Project Spark can use/edit family files from Revit.  There is a limitation however in that any familes created/modified in Project Spark can not be used by Revit.

I realized I did not answer all of your questions directly.  For clarification:

    From within Revit LT can:

    1. A family be loaded by selecting from the catalog?

Yes families from Revit can be opened and a type catalog can be used.

    2. A MEP Revit Family be opened and modified by it's type parameters?

Yes you can open an MEP family and modify type parameters.

    3. Can the connections be removed?

    Yes

    4. Can the family saved and loaded into a project?

Yes it can be loaded into a Project Spark project.  It will not be able to be loaded into a Revit project.  If it is an MEP family however it may not matter if it is loaded into the project or not.  Since Project Spark does not have MEP tools some families may not be able to be placed even if they are loaded into the project.

    5. Can the family in a project be exported to DWG?

You can export familes and projects from Project Spark to DWG files.

Is it possible to retain information on materials when exporting a family into dwg format?

A DWG export from Project Spark will not contain material information.  The FBX export will export a family with material information intact.
