crash on startup

When starting Falcon stand alone version, it immediately crashes.

I am using Windows 8 x64 and have the latest Nvidia graphics driver (314.07). I have also tried both ProjectFalcon6.zip and ProjectFalcon7.zip builds to no avail. I do not know a lot about computers, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Below is the error log that displays after the crash:

(Unrelated to topic, but I am also having trouble with using the forum 'insert code' feature.)

This could be a DirectX support issue. Do you have DirectX 9c and the end user runtime installed? More info in this thread:

I installed the directx runtime library as recommended, and it works! Thanks for the help.
