sketchbook pro

How is it possible to import sketchbook pro files into inventor?

I don't want to know how to do it in designer due to Autodesk not making it anymore thanks.

Thanks in advance!

SketchBook Pro exports the standard image formats:

TIFF

JPEG

PNG

BMP

The default file type that SketchBook Pro users is TIFF.  Even though this supports layers, it should read into most systems as a flattened image.  Any of the above mentioned formats are very transportable.

You will want to avoid the proprietary layer format types, such as PSD and PXD when moving image files to Inventor or other CAD packages.

Hope this helps.

Hi alrobinson, Inventor is able to accept the following image types: BMP GIF JPG PNG You can export your SketchBook Pro image as one of these filetypes, and then import into Inventor with the following steps: From Inventor- Create a new Part Create a new 2D Sketch From the Sketch Menu on the Ribbon, select Insert (tab) --> Insert Image (button) Navigate to your image. Note - Inventor prefers that your image be located in the active project, however it's not absolutely required. Hope that helps! -Janna

Here are the step by step instructions:

From Sketchbook Pro, save your image as one of the Inventor-compatible formats: BMP GIF JPG PNG

SketchbookPro SaveAs.png

From Inventor, create a new part, start a 2D Sketch, select one of the sketch planes, and from the Sketch menu on the Ribbon, select Insert Image (see red box below).

Select the image you saved from SketchBook Pro, and click OK. Then Finish Sketch.

Now you can use the SketchBook Pro image in your Inventor 2D sketch.
