Hi, I am using AutoCAD LT 2010 on Windows 7 on an HP Compaq laptop.
When I come to create a pdf from a drawing using 'DWG To PDF' from the plotter menu, AutoCAD often crashes, and it seems to be becoming more frequent.
Normally shutting down the program and then re-starting it solves the problem, but sometimes I have to restart the computer (which is a significant loss of time). Today even doing that hasn't worked.
Does anyone know what is going on here, and how to solve it?
Thanks.

Remove and reinstall LT perhaps.
Follow Autodesk's Uninstall AutoCAD instructions:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteI D=123112&id=10243968&linkID=9240617
or
Grab REVO UNINSTALLER, it's free, and works better than Windows and software
uninstallers ever could. Go for the maximum uninstall option, delete
anything offered up with a delete option:
http://www.download.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096 _4-10687648.html?tag=mncol
Then grab a freeware called CCLEANER and use it's default settings to clean
up your Windows Registry ( also use it's Cleaner option to fix any issues
with your PC).
Now restart Windows, and reinstall LT with your two other apps turned off.
Or try these other alternates:

Paul,
While I don't know the 'cause' and have repeated sought answers from
various CAD gurus (gurii??) the workaround that we have developed is to
go to DWF first. this unfortunately requires that you have either one
of the higher-end Adopey products Pro or Standard, OR a 3rd party app
like win2pdf or other ....
we've been the route of remove/reinstall // format system and reinstall
from the ground up. . . . eventually PDF creation goes bang.
IMHO, PDF are a means to drive the majority of the CAD community insane
waiting for plots while under deadline/pressure from bosses and clients
Good Luck!

Thanks for your reply Matt,
I have tried plotting to DWF, but I don't have software which will open that filetype.
I'll have to try re-installing ACAD when I can find time to go through with it...
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Dean,
Thanks for your reply. I will (reluctantly) have to uninstall and reinstall ACAD as you suggest. It looks like my only option.

Please back up all of your customizations, and do not try it if you have a
major deadline looming.
